Ingredients
- 100 ml light soy sauce
- 250 gr Mie noodles
- 8 pcs. (with bone and skin) approx. 1 kg Chicken thighs
- 1-1,5 tablespoons of oil
- 6-8 cm ginger
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 1 small chili pepper
- 3 star anise
- 3 spoons of honey
- 300 ml of water
- 4 tablespoons chopped chives
- Roasted sesame seeds for serving
A method of preparing
1. Peel the ginger and chop it into small pieces. Halve the garlic cloves, and slice the chili pepper into rings.
2. Heat oil in a pot, place the chicken thighs skin side down, and sear them. Flip them when the skin is golden brown. Then sear them on the other side and transfer them to a plate.
3. Pour off the frying fat. Wipe the pot with a paper towel.
4. Pour in 300 ml of water, add soy sauce, chopped ginger, garlic, and chili pepper. Add the star anise. Bring to a boil and add the fried chicken thighs. Cover partially to allow steam to escape. Cook for about 50 minutes.
5. 15 minutes before the meat is done cooking, bring the water for the pasta to a boil. Add the pasta, cook for 5 minutes, drain, and rinse with cold water.
6. Prepare a pan by adding 2 ladles of the chicken stock, adding the pasta and chives, and sautéing briefly. Transfer to a plate, add 2 chicken thighs each, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
TIP: You can fry noodles with more than just chives. Add carrots, Chinese cabbage, and bell peppers to the pan.
