Japanese pancakes
Fluffy, delicate, and incredibly light – Japanese pancakes are a true treat for fans of sweet breakfasts! Stiffly beaten egg whites and coconut milk give them a unique texture. Ingredients
- 100 ml Coconut milk 5-7% House of Asia
- 150 g wheat flour
- 3 yolks
- 5 egg whites
- 3 tablespoons of caster sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- vanilla flavor
- frying oil
To serve: 2 tablespoons House of Asia sweet soy sauce
A method of preparing
- Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla essence, like a kogiel-mogel. Add the coconut milk, sifted flour, and baking powder, and mix.
- Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff and fluffy. Very gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Spoon the batter onto the pan and fry the pancakes on both sides for about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve drizzled with sweet soy sauce.
TIP: You can use round metal molds to fry tall Japanese pancakes.
