Japanese Katsu Sando Sandwich
Katsu Sando is a popular Japanese sandwich with a cutlet fried in panko breadcrumbs, topped with white cabbage and a special Tonkatsu sauce. It just so happens that we offer this sauce, and the recipe was created by Japanese chef Tetsu. WantabiteIt doesn't get more authentic than this. We think everyday pork chop eaters will love this sandwich, which you can make in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
100 ml House of Asia Tonkatsu Sauce
100 gr House of Asia Panko Breadings
300 g pork loin
about 100 g of white cabbage
4 slices of Shokupan bread or toasted bread
2 eggs
100 g wheat flour
frying oil
majonez
salt pepper
A method of preparing
1. Cut the pork loin into slices approximately 1 cm thick.
2. Use a fork to prick the meat.
3. Salt and pepper the pork loin on both sides.
4. Coat the meat – first in flour, then in egg, and finally in Panko breadcrumbs.
5. Fry the katsu cutlet in deep oil (170°C) for about 5 minutes, until the breading is golden brown.
6. Transfer the meat to a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
7. Chop the white cabbage.
8. Prepare the bread slices. Optionally, you can trim the crusts.
9. Spread mayonnaise on each slice, then place the cutlet on top, pour the tonkatsu sauce over it, add the cabbage and cover with the second slice.
10. Finally, use your hand or a tray to press down on the sandwich.
