Steamed vegetables in a bamboo steamer
Discover how to perfectly steam vegetables that retain their flavor, color, vitamins, and crunch. Adding a sauce made from a blend of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and herb paste will further enhance the flavor of the crispy vegetables.
Ingredients
- 5-6 broccoli florets
- 5-6 cauliflower florets
- 1 small pak choi cabbage
- 8 green string beans
- Salt to taste
SOS:
- 2 tablespoons Light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon Garlic, ginger and chili pastes
- ½ teaspoon White sesame
- 3 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 2 tablespoons chopped spring onions for garnish
A method of preparing
- Wash and dry the vegetables, and trim the ends from the beans. Transfer everything to a deep plate, lightly sprinkle with salt, and place in a steamer. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes (the vegetables should be slightly al dente).
- Meanwhile, mix together all the sauce ingredients.
- Sprinkle the cooked vegetables with spring onions and serve with the sauce.
