Baozi Buns with Pork
Baozi buns with pork are a classic Chinese cuisine, captivating with their delicacy and rich flavors. The fluffy, steamed dough conceals a succulent filling of ground pork, aromatic mun mushrooms, and distinctive spices such as five-spice blend and hoisin sauce. Preparing baozi may seem complicated, but with a little patience, you can create a dish at home that will transport you straight to Asian cuisine. Ingredients
Ingredients for the cake:
- 250 ml milk
- 15 g fresh yeast
- 500 g flour type 00
- 60 g melted butter
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
Stuffing:
- 15 gr Mushroom Mun House of Asia soaked in hot water for about 10 minutes
- 1 teaspoon House of Asia 5 Flavor Spices
- 2 tablespoons House of Asia Hoisin Sauce
- 600 g minced pork (shoulder)
- 3 tablespoons of rapeseed oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 2 cm of ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives

A method of preparing
- Dissolve the yeast in warm milk (up to 36°C). In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, butter, and dissolved yeast. Knead until smooth, transfer to a bowl greased with sesame oil, cover, and set aside in a warm place for 1 hour.
- In a heated pan, sauté the onion, ginger, garlic, and mushrooms. Add the ground beef and fry until golden brown. Season with hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, and pepper. Finally, add the chives and cilantro. Once cooled, add the egg yolk and mix thoroughly.
- Form the dough into 12 balls, cover, and let rise for 15-20 minutes. Roll each ball out to about 0,5 cm thick, place the filling in the center, roll it up, and place it in a steamer basket. Steam for about 17 minutes over medium heat.
