Cucumbers in Chinese sauce
Tired of the usual cucumber salad for Sunday dinner? We've got a totally fresh take on this side dish. Try our chef's recipe for cucumbers in Chinese sauce. It's a bit spicy and intriguing. Simply make the sauce: our oyster sauce, soy sauce, yuzu vinegar, chives, sugar, and chili flakes. These cucumbers also make a great salad for a barbecue.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons House of Asia Oyster Sauce
- 1 spoon House of Asia Light Soy Sauce
- 2-3 tablespoons House of Asia Yuzu Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
A method of preparing
- Massage the cucumbers, crush them with a knife, and cut them into irregular pieces. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and let them sit for 10 minutes. After that time, pat them dry with a paper towel and place them in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until the sugar dissolves. Pour the sauce over the cucumbers, mix well, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
