Sushi maki with raw salmon and chives
Maki sushi is a popular variety of sushi, a Japanese dish that consists of pieces of fish, vegetables, or other ingredients wrapped in rice and nori sheets. Check out our chef's recipe for a version with raw salmon and chives. Enjoy!
Ingredients
500 gr House of Asia sushi rice
4 Leaves House of Asia Seaweed Nori
200 g salmon cut into thick strips
120 g Philadelphia cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
A few sprigs of spring onions
To serve:
House of Asia Premium Sushi Soy Sauce
A method of preparing
1. Prepare the rice according to the instructions on the package (you will also need House of Asia Sushi Rice Sauce). You can find the recipe for cooking sushi rice here HERE>
2. Cover the bamboo mat with cling film and mix the Philadelphia cheese with mayonnaise.
3. Place a sheet of nori on the mat, shiny side down. Spread the rice over the top, leaving a 1,5-centimeter border. Spread the rice with cream cheese, then add the salmon and scallions.
4. Moisten the margin slightly with water and roll up the roll.
5. Cut the sushi into pieces and serve with soy sauce, ginger and wasabi.
TIP: Remember to always keep your knife clean, sharp and slightly damp so that the rice does not stick to it.
TIP: Instead of ready-made sauce, you can use rice vinegar combined with sugar to prepare rice: dissolve 6 tablespoons of sugar in 150 ml of House of Asia Rice Vinegar (you can heat it gently) and mix with 500 g of sushi rice.
