Hot pot
This recipe for spicy Sichuan hot pot is perfect for lovers of spicy Asian dishes. The aromatic broth, Sichuan spices, and various additions make hot pot not just a dish but also a communal form of cooking.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons House of Asia Kimchi Pastes
- 50 gr House of Asia Canned Enoki Mushrooms
- 100 gr House of Asia instant noodles
- 100 gr House of Asia Edamame Beans
- 2 tablespoons House of Asia Sesame Oil
- 2 liters of beef broth
- 1 teaspoon dried chili flakes
- 6 Sichuan peppercorns
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- a small piece of ginger, sliced
- 3 stars of anise
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 pieces of cinnamon bark
Favorite serving ingredients:
- 150 g thinly sliced beef
- 16 shrimps (16/20), cleaned and cut in half
- 50 g natural tofu, diced
- 2 pak choy cabbages
- 150 g broccoli cut into smaller florets
A method of preparing
- Heat the sesame oil in a large pot. Add the garlic, ginger, chili flakes, Sichuan peppercorns, cinnamon, and star anise and sauté for 2–3 minutes, until fragrant.
- Add the kimchi paste and cook for another 2 minutes. Then add the broth, bay leaves, and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Prepare the pasta according to the instructions on the packaging.
- Once the broth is ready, pour it into a special hot pot placed in the center of the table. The broth should be constantly simmering, and everyone dining should have easy access to it.
- The ingredients are immersed in the broth one by one and cooked for several dozen seconds, depending on the type and thickness of the product, until they are soft or slightly crispy.
- Add noodles, enoki mushrooms, edamame beans, and ingredients cooked in broth to bowls – creating your own version of your favorite soup.
